About Gangplank
Gangplank, The Saltwater Scourge, is a powerful fighter and specialist champion in League of Legends who is mostly played in toplane of Summoner's Rift. First released on August 19, 2009 during Patch 0.9.22.15, Gangplank has become known for their melee playstyle and physical damage output.
With 12 unique skins available, Gangplank offers plenty of customization options for players who enjoy this champion. Gangplank has a ton of skins to choose from, so players can really customize their experience with this champion.
As a champion who uses Mana as their resource, Gangplank brings a unique set of abilities to League of Legends that makes them a great champ for any team comp.
Gameplay style
Gangplank is primarily played as a fighter/specialist, leveraging their melee combat style to dominate in toplane. Since their release in Patch 0.9.22.15, players have come up with a bunch of different strategies and builds to maximize Gangplank's potential.
As a physical-focused champion who uses Mana to cast their abilities, Gangplank requires players to carefully manage their resources while positioning effectively to deal maximum damage. The champion's design makes them particularly effective against both squishier targets and frontline opponents with a balance of damage and durability.
Gangplank's story
As unpredictable as he is brutal, the dethroned reaver king Gangplank is feared far and wide. Once, he ruled the port city of Bilgewater, and while his reign is over, there are those who believe this has only made him more dangerous. Gangplank would see Bilgewater bathed in blood once more before letting someone else take it—and now with pistol, cutlass, and barrels of gunpowder, he is determined to reclaim what he has lost.
